01/16/2010 | K3STX Lots of fun, if I closed my eyes I could think it was 1978 again and I was scouring the Novice bands for QSOs. LOTS of activity, should be this way every night! I just got into restoring boat anchors, so this year used my "new" Hammarlund HQ-170A and Heathkit DX-20, about 30 watts output. Key was a 1939 Lightning bug, I can't use a straight key anymore (can barely use a bug). I only have two crystals, so if the frequency was QRL I had to wait. Ahh, those were the days!

Now to get a VFO (I sound like a novice again!).
