2010 ARRL International DX Contest (CW)

02/23/2010 | NQ2W From my little space in the universe I was able to claim 104 Q's on three bands with 68 multipliers from 40 unique DXCC entities. All this in about 16 hours of operating with 4 watts output power to a 40 meter dipole hung in the attic of a single story ranch house. I actually added 20 meter elements to the dipole on Sunday morning in the hopes that it would help my signal on 20 meters.

I wish there was a way to award extra points to the stations I worked. Copying my QRP signal could not have been easy but many of you did. For that I am thankful and applaud your efforts. You are all top notch operators.

It was great having 15 meters open - I wish I could say the same about 10. When I listened there, I heard nothing. 40 meters always amazes me - I heard a ZM and VK but couldn't work 'em - maybe next year. 20 meters I saved for Sunday and I think the antenna mod helped out as it there appeared to be a lot more activity than on Saturday.

All in all, it was a great contest and I made more Q's than I thought I would. Thanks to all of the operators. Hope to work more of you next time. Keep listening for dadit dadadidah dididadadah didadah...

73,

Will -- NQ2W
