2010 ARRL International DX Contest (CW)
I worked all continents on 40 meters and 15 meters! Last year I didn't even work anyone on 15, this year it yielded 45 contacts in 28 entities.
There were good openings to Europe from the West Coast on 20 and 15 meters on Saturday morning and later in the day again on 20 and 40. Sunday seemed a bit lighter, but nevertheless DX was worked. We worked Hawaii, Alaska, and Argentina on 10 and some Caribbean and South American stations.
I ran my IC-756 pro II barefoot to a ground mounted Butternut Vertical with a modest radial system. So, considering the limited antenna system (in place since 5/08), I am quite pleased with the results.
Thanks to everyone who worked me and looking forward to seeing you here again next year, which will be my 10 straight showing in the ARRL DX Test (the previous 8 being as WB6IYM).
BTW, the new vanity callsign (since 12/19/09) seemed to work quite well. It was evident that the shorter call required fewer repeats in marginal conditions.
