03/11/2010 | KB0HH We had our best DX contest ever. Our score was twice that of last year. 40 meters and 20 meters were our best bands with 15 meters doing well also. 80 meters and 160 meters added to the final results nicely. 10 meters was a disappointment with 21 Qs. We could see the east, west, gulf coasts working many contacts but the propagation just did not reach NW Oklahoma well.

There were 8 operators in and out of the Bunkhouse during the contest. There were no weather issues and no range fires. The electricity stayed on. The only equipment failure was the 20 meter rotor quitting. We turned the tower by hand the last 2 hours of the contest. We ate well as usual. Many pictures of the operators did not turn out well enough to post. -- KB0HH
