JOTA 2007

10/21/2007 | N2S This year the Hall of Science Amateur Radio Club (www.hosarc.org) hosted JOTA from it's club station within the Hall of Science in Queens, NY. The Hall of Science (www.nyscience.org) is a science based museum on the site of the World's Fair grounds in Flushing Meadows Park.

We operated both Sat and Sun from 10am to 6pm eastern time. We had invited the local scout troops to attend. Several troops did make it down to our shack over the weekend. We operated on HF, 6m as well as on Echolink through our club's repeater on 70cm. All attending had lots of fun. The scouts even got to check out the museum when they weren't talking on the radios. I am already in the planning stages of a radio merit badge day. If we had contacted you this year, thank you. If we didn't get a contact from your JOTA station, we'll meet on the bands next year!

Be sure to visit our website at www.hosarc.org for more pictures of JOTA and other club activities. -- AB2UV
