10/28/2008 | WB9SA WB9SA Club Station for Crew and Troop 272 kicked off JOTA 2008 at 10:30 EDT Saturday with the Scouts raising our new Sat Comm Antennas for the first time! We had the Satellite Station, 2 meter -- repeater and simplex, Amateur TV -- this was the biggest hit! and Several Echolink stations set up. An HF 20 meter station was also available, but didn't get much action as the Scout Freqency was quite piled up... We gave awards to the Scouts with the most contacts (1st, 2nd and 3rd place) and had Pizza for lunch... a great time was had by all!

Crew Advisor K9BKW and Venturer KC9EVS helped the Scouts get rolling. The Troop is scheduled this winter to put all the Scouts and Scouters through Electronic and Radio Merit Badges and get as many as possible licensed!
