10/19/2009 | K9WZB My name is Harley, I am cub-master for pack 85 cub scouts here in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Last year I organized the Jota event and had over 50 scouts attend from Lake Havasu city. This year I wanted to double that size and yahoo, we did it. There were over 100 scouts that attended this years Jamboree on the air in Lake Havasu City, AZ. We had packs and troops attend from Lake Havasu City, AZ; Bullhead City, AZ; Fort Mohave AZ; Kingman, AZ and Quartsite. The younger scouts built can/string telephones and the older scouts built workable radios, The scouts learned what communication is all about and different ways to communicate, Then all of the scouts one by one talked on the ham radio to other scouts from Arkansas, Texas and New Mexico. They had a great time. I took plenty of pictures and would like to share them with you. This is only a few pictures, There are also pictures of the tigers and wolves, but they did not come out well. The main coordinator for the Las Vegas Council is Dennis. He was a big help helping me get this all together. It was a lot of fun and we look forward to next years JOTA.
