06/28/2010 | NC4CA Members of the Four County ARES group in North central North Carolina again staged at the Granville County Emergency Management complex for the 2010 Field Day event. Operating as a 4A class, operators made a number of contacts on 6,15, 20, 40 and 80 meters. During the event we were fortunate enough to be visited by served agency representative Blanche Hudon (Director of Volunteer Services) of the Central NC Chapter of the American Red Cross, along with her husband Rick, who serves as a disaster instructor for the chapter, and their daughters Stefani and Ashley. We thank them for taking the time to stop by and visit with our group. Toward the end of the event, we were also visited by Tom Brown N4TAB (NC SEC) and Stephen Misel K4WEB (NC ASEC Central Branch). We greatly appreciated their stopping by to share thoughts on amateur radio in the Triangle area and how best we can serve the emergency services mission.
