06/28/2010 | K5WNH This was another fun Field Day despite the heat (100F Saturday) in North Texas. The good news was improved band conditions over last year on 15 and 20 meters, especially Sunday morning! 80 was pretty noisey and ineffective here. I used the K-1 (5 watts), TH-3jr, Double Ext. Zepp, old boat battery, solar panel. Field Day is great for us old timers...for 24 hours we can forget the problems and stresses of the day and just be a kid again playing with the radio!
