06/28/2010 | WG5F This year was great! More than tripled the 2009 QSO count. Made contacts on 10, 15, 20, & 40. Used 150' center fed dipole strung 40' up into trees with slingshot. Solar panel for natural power QSO's and gel-cel recharge. Next year I need a strong battery source for the laptop along with a digital interface. I enjoy the search and pounce required for 5 watt QRP operation. It's also much easier to tote a 10lb battery than a 40lb power supply and the 350lb Gen-Set.
