2010 ARRL Field Day
For Field Day 2010 we roughed it from the private lake house of W5BL near Clarksville, TX. We've all done the 100+ degree heat in past Field Days and thought it was time to enjoy a little air conditioning. We all brought our own radios to the lake house and strung wire antennas up in the trees finally getting done with only minutes to spare. We had delta loops for 10m, 20m and 40m (our 40m also did double duty on 15m with a tuner). We also had a 5el yagi that we mounted to a extendable flag pole and raise it up about 30' off the ground. Rigs were two Icom 756-Pro II's and a IC-7200 for 6m all running barefoot. We managed to put 918 Qs in the log with 20 and 40m being our most productive bands. It was very nice to see 6m open into the late hours Saturday night and we logged almost 100 Qs on 6m alone. Already looking forward to next year!
