2010 ARRL Field Day
This was the second year of a joint operation between the Orange County Radio Amateurs and the Durham FM Association in North Carolina. We seamlessly built a 10A Battery operation. Had to overcome adversity though-
97 degree high temps on the field the entire weekend.
A 50 foot tower collapse, "pretzeling" a tri-band yagi, a couple of hours of "field surgery" got the antenna back in working order.
Static surge killed two radios- two other rigs quickly swapped in.
Due to the enthusiastic cooperation of all involved, there were no injuries due to heat or otherwise. We set a new club record and may have set a new 10A Battery record. Most of all we had fun, and are already planning for next year!
