The Glynn Amateur Radio Association (GARA) operated field day 2010 from Blythe Island Park in Brunswick Georgia. We operated class 3A with 2 beams, a vertical, and a couple of dipoles. Bill, K4TVE our field day committee chairman, orgainized our club members to work together to make our field day a big success. From raising antennas (Bill K4TVE, Rick KK5RX, Larry N4FD, Larry WB4IZD), setting up radios (Don N4CMA, Garry K4KAH, Jeff N4XGI), setting up logging network (Joe WB4UGA, David KD4NUE), supplying and setting up Generators (Kevin KI4IWD, Chris KJ4PHW), suppling and and setting up Cooling fans (Kent KD8FRG), operating (Larry N4FD, Bill K4TVE, Jeff N4XGI, Rick KK5RX, Hugh N4RJ, David KD4NUE, Don N4CMA, Kent KD8FRG, Chris KJ4VRA, Nancy KJ4MGY, Jack KJ4PHZ, Garry K4KAH, Kevin KI4IWD) and our Field day gourmets (Sid KJ4EIA, Chris KJ4PWH, Nancy KJ4MGY), everyone chipped in. We made a total of 825 contacts to all sections except ME, ID, SD and NWT in Canada on 160-10M CW and Phone. We had some visitors including Leigh Anne Estrada, from the local Red Cross and Jay Wiggins, the EMA director and many other local amateurs.
We are already planning to have another successful field day in 2011.
