08/08/2010 | N0TTW I had fun struggling with the propagation conditions this year. Last year was terrible as far as I was concerned. How I wished for another 2008 season. I had too scramble to get 222 Mhz going again this week as I discovered my SWR was off the charts. I assumed that water must have entered the connection on top of the tower, that wasn't the case. After several days of beating my head, I found that a N connector center pin decided to move back when I connected it too the antenna creating a bad connection. After replacing the cable... I was good too go... so I thought. During the contest, my 2 mast-mounted preamps must have been zap by the T-storm that went through... not a big issue but it made it a little tougher. Signals were up and down through most of the contest except duing the middle and at the end. Otherwise it took time to work them. Overall... I had fun as always. I'm look forward to having 902 AND 2304 up and running for the next UHF contest. Oh... and some new preamps. -- N0TTW
