W7VO this year was operated by Steve, KF7GNI, a contest "newbee". In true contesting fashion, Mike, W7VO and host, was busy sandbagging the shack due to very heavy rains in the Pacific Northwest that weekend. No flooding in the shack, but we had more water around than 10M contacts, it seems.

This was Steve's first solo effort in a contest, and did a LOT of careful S&P as he roamed the band looking for contacts. He finally got brave enough to start calling some CQs on Sunday, and really got his rate up.

Steve had a good run into SA on Saturday AM, but then things got pretty bad until the late afternoon when we had a pipeline between and AZ for a few contacts. Sunday was a bit better, but the band was still pretty bad from this far North.

Steve had a great time, and is looking forward to the next contest!
