This was my first SKN with my "New" call. I started the night at 0000Z using the SKCC 5 year aniversary SES call of K3Y/1and made 10 SES style QSOs before going back to NF1O and making a few nice general SKN style QSOs.

Only 1 of my 27 SKN QSOs were with people that were not SKCC members. but it was great fun.

As is my tradition, I use a key for SKN that i have not used on the air before.

This year i added an Army J-5-A flameproof key to the collection and after using it, it will become a showpiece. It was AWFUL. I have used a Navy Flameproof for years and loved it but the J5A is not good.

I used my Elecraft K3 for my SKN ops, and new for this year i also had the P3 pan display.  It turned out good to have as while calling CQ, i noticed that a bit outside of my filter limit, I could see a signal every time i stopped sending. when i tuned down to it I found my friend WU2D (rockbound) calling me. We had a nice chat. He was using a HB TX  and HB Regen RX.

I operated SKN on 80, 40, 20 and 17 meters.

I am looking forward to next year already.
