2011 ARRL International DX Contest (CW)
For this contest event, I operated single band, Ten Meters. Prior to the contest, I was able to erect a temporary dipole and get it at 25 feet in the air and had it facing north/south as I expected that most of the propagation would be to the south. I was very happy with the propagation on Saturday and was especially pleased that the dipole was able to "hear" well as I worked several stations at a time that were running 100 Watts or less from PY and LU call areas. I worked four QRP stations as well. I can honestly say that I was able to eventually work every different callsign that I heard during the contest. I worked one station outside of SA and NA and that was J5NAR in Africa. I did not hear Europe on Ten during the contest but I was told later that stations in New England were able to work a few of them. Looks like the bands are getting better!
