2011 ARRL June VHF Contest
The contest started with the 222MHz antennas broken and the replacements not up. We had a tower climber coming Saturday morning to help out .. .. That got done about 3:oo p.m. Saturday afternoon, along with the 3456 MHz antenna... .. We are on the air! Something happened to the 2 meter rig .. .. no transmitt .. .. early in the contest. That took a bit of time to add the back-up rig. Got'r done .. .. antennas on all bands .. .. whew!! We had two new operators at the Bunkhouse for the contest. They did wonderfully! We were short a few operators through the contest but the one's we had made up the difference .. .. Many thanks for those of you that looked us up .. .. and for the rovers that came out to the 4-corners to play in the contest. The cook kept us fed with Bunkhouse cooking and the weather kept us jumping! Tornadoe ally is not a good place to build a contest station!! We had BIG winds and a bit of rain .. .. lost electricity .. .. How much fun do we really need????
