2012 ARRL June VHF Contest
All in all, a great contest. Activated 6 grids total. Saturday started off slow with just a few local 2m, 1.25m, and 70cm contacts. 6m was up and down most of the afternoon with a bit of a steady opening in the early evening. Sunday late afternoon to the end of the contest was wide open, first to the west and then to the east. Always feel that I could make more contacts, but those huge stations out there just seem to squash my modest mobile set-up like a bug. 133 6m QSOs and 51 grids worked, although much more were heard; they just could not hear me. In four years of being involved in this contest, best score so far. Still looking to do better, somehow. Possibly get more amateurs in the Chicagoland area involved, especially on 2 meters and up. Only made a total of 54 contacts on 2, 1.25, and 70cm. Much room for improvement in that department.
