2012 ARRL Field Day

06/25/2012 | NV7CV

Operating under the club call-sign of NV7CV, the Sierra Intermountain Emergency Radio Association (SIERA) club participated in the 2012 ARRL Field Day activities. We had three rigs setup for SSB, PSK-31 & CW operations. Our antennas were a multiband vertical and dipole, a long wire, plus an inverted-v. Power was supplied by a portable generator and a solar panel/battery. We were located on East Fork Fire & Paramedic Protection District Station #6 property in a dirt field behind the station in Minden, Nevada.

Operations started at 11am (PDT) on the 24th and concluded shortly before 11am on the 25th. We were set up in a tent. Contacts were made for the entire 24-hour period.

The photos show our setup and operations.

See the SIERA website at http://cvhams.com for additional Field Day photos and other club activities including the annual Pony Express Re-ride where SIERA provides communications across the entire the State of Nevada as we follow the Pony.
