2012 ARRL 10 Meter Contest
I traveled to Aruba to Carl Cook's P49V rental QTH for the 10M contest and operated as P40CX. This is a great QTH and is loud on all bands. As we all know by now, the 1st day of the contest was fairly poor. I worked mostly South America stations with a few southern USA and western EU stations. However, around 02:00Z (both nights) there was a long path opening due south to Asia. This is where I worked a half dozen JA's, several BY's, 1 - VR2, and 4 - HS stations. At the end of the 1st day I had 700 QSO's. The 2nd day was quite a bit better. The band opened to most of the US and a bit better to western Europe. I had several hours over 200 on Sunday afternoon. A45XR calls in Sunday beaming NE for a nice suprise. The contest was lots of fun and I ended up with 2185 / 225 / 1.4 Million as SO/Mix/Hi Pwr. 73, Tom K8CX / P40CX
