SKN 2013 had its trying times due to insufficient propagation plus an electrical contact problem with my ground mounted 14AVQ.  It still turned out to be a fun event, made 21 contacts in 8 states (10 of them in my home state of Texas, 3 in California, and 2 in North Carolina).

I had hoped to work a few stations on 80 meters this year, poor propagation, a poor wire antenna, and lack of patience just didn't allow it to happen.

As usual I read the mail a lot.  Had some nifty conversations, perhaps my best happened last, it was with Bob, W5XW, in San Antonio.  We swapped some good stories and spent an enjoyable 30 plus minutes chatting.
