2013 ARRL Straight Key Night
SKN 2013 made 13 contacts in 10 states read the mail on several more qso,s
Band conditions in Texas were good low noise floor heard a number of boat anchor rigs a few key clicks but no chirps talked to a station running a home built two tube regen receiver from his novice days and a 8 watt HB TX He had a little trouble with qrm but we had a nice qso even with regen poor selectivity.
I used a "Ham" key then switched over to a German WWII key with the Logo still engraved on it. used it to work a station using a British key. if only the keys could talk two Great Empires one winner. I have worked SKN for about 15 years and always enjoy the laid back qsos with no rush a lot like the qsos I had as a Novice back in 1958 but now I can actualy copy what they are saying Hi
