I operated portable from my mother-in-law's basement using a Martin Research and Manufacturing 5-48 "Flash" bug, the Icom 730 of my wife (KB0QJJ), and a random wire that ran out the basement window, up an exterior staircase, and across the fiberglas awning of the second-story deck.  Thanks to John, K0JVX, who provided my one, obligatory QSO just before midnight local time and who put up with the QSD from a dirty dit contact.  SKN proves once again there is magic on the air!
