2013 ARRL January VHF Contest

02/09/2013 | KB4BKV

My father, Stan (WA4DYD) and I got out on a Western PA mountain at 2400 ft elevation in grid FM19 this year.  Temperatures were cold and the winds were signficant, requiring many guy lines on the mast used for the higher bands.  Overnight winds were strong enough to bend the 6m mast.

During 16 hours of operating time, we made a total of 156 contacts on 6m, 2m, 1.25m, 70cm and 23cm.
