2002 ARRL June VHF Contest

06/10/2002 | K0AWU Thanks to all who looked toward EN37ed during the contest. Returning to 6 meters after being gone for over 30 years made this contest very different. I now have a new problem! Do I work FROM 6 meters as a "base" band or 2 meters? We had enough 6 meter E's here to require monitoring 6 all the time. 160 six meter contacts into 75 grids helped boost my contest score to a new personal high of 29,318pts with 234 contacts on 6m, 2m, 432Mhz and 1296Mhz. Tropo conditions were poor Sunday with thunderstorms and a frontal passage that really hurt 2, 432 and 1296.But an almost 2hr opening into "7" land on six meters, provided a last hour burst of 18 new grids! As always, the contest was a real Blast! -- K0AWU
