Mount Vernon Iowa's Boy Scout Troop 40 held their annual JOTA event at Camp Waubeek, northeast of Cedar Rapids.  Thirteen boys and four adult leaders participated.

Operating under the call NM0S,  the station consisted of a multiband wire dipole strung between trees, and a TenTec Triton IV operated from  a 12v car battery.  Operation began after lunch, and ran for four hours.  A total of 17 stations were contacted.
