08/19/2002 | WB2FKO/R Slim pickins in DM84....This looked like a good spot at 5000+ feet ASL and unrestricted views to the horizon in every direction. For several hours on Saturday afternoon I couldn't raise a soul from this location on "Caprock" in eastern New Mexico. Fortunately, 6 meters opened just as the sun was going down when I was in DM75. Worked many stations in the southeast and midwest with only 8 Watts and the loop. Hope to be out there again in September with a bunch more power on 6. -- WB2FKO
