2014 ARRL Field Day
The Maui Amateur Radio Club operated from the North shore of Maui in a location that's been used for over 50 years of Field Day events. The location is spectacular for it's RF takeoff angle, stunning views, and dramatic sunsets.
This year the club operated 3A with high power on 40, 20, 15, & 10 Meters. NH6Y built monobander Yagis for 20, 15 & 10 that were about 30' up.
Highlights for the weekend were WH6DUB working the International Space Station and the club making 2,391 QSOs with CW, SSB, RTTY, giving an estimated score of 3462 points.
There was a lot of club participation this year even though the bands were not as good as last year, we all had a great time. It was great to see some of our newer members running pile-ups!
Thanks to all who contacted us or tried to contact us. The pile-ups were intense! We appreciate your patience. Also thanks to our members and supporters. Thanks for a really great Field Day!
