FD2014 was a great exercise for our club, Runestone Amateur Radio Club of Alexandria, Minnesota.  As it turned out, this event was a combined activity of a Special Event and Field Day together.  Alexandria as celebrating a Ribfest and Awake the Lakes (the lakes finally thawed out) and the annual Field Day.  Anyway, because of the community event we had more visitors and "stopperinners" than ever before.  From the pictures you can tell that we were under the watchful eye of Big Ole, the largest Viking on the continent!

Both events went very well with lots of QSOs all over the country.  Our hams had a good time and so did the visitors.  The ribs were tasty too.  This was our first effort at a purely social, relaxed and PR approach...it felt good...maybe again next year.
