2002 ARRL Field Day

06/28/2002 | W7RDR Long Beach Peninsula (WA) Hams Practiced Emergency Communication Skills During Field Day

The Pacific County Amateur Radio Club (PCARC) operating 2A with call W7RDR held their first Field Day operating event the weekend of June 22nd at the Port of the Peninsula in Nahcotta, State of Washington.
The public was invited and visitors included Pacific County Sheriff John Didion who observed the ham's ability to quickly put together a field operating station. Other notable visitors were Pacific County Commissioner Bud Cuffel and Jay Hardin of Ilwaco, one of the oldest ham radio operators on the Peninsula.

PCARC made 194 radio contacts with other amateur stations ranging from the Virgin Islands to Mexico City, three provinces of Canada and 29 states including Hawaii. Demos included Amateur TV. -- N7CVW
