CW is one of life's truely simple joys... Using an antique J-38 straight key from my Novice days of 1979 brings back fond memories of the NC-300 receiver and Johnson Viking tranmitter warming up... the smell of hot dusty tubes, oil, and fiber bits... The rush of the speaker coming to life 10 to 15 seconds after the on switch was thrown... Working more than 50 miles was real DX!
