2015 ARRL Straight Key Night

01/09/2015 | W1TS

Another pleasurable SKN for the logbooks. Initially I ran my vintage DX-100-B and HQ-150 station then moved on to my DX-60-B and National NC-88 station. The NC-88 was used by my sister, WN1LXD and my father, KN1CEB in 1956 and 1958 respectifully.

On both of these stations I used an un-named straight key with ball bearing pivots and a solid brass base.

Later on I went  "modern" using my ICOM IC-718 with a Siginal Electric Mfg. Co. straighty key.

Enjoyed hearing some easily discernable vintage transmitters and QRP rigs as well as the continuing interest in a unique communication mode.
