2015 ARRL International DX Phone Contest

Winter is the perfect time to contest! No lawn to mow, not weeds to pull in the garden, and best of all, quiet band conditions. I operate a modest station, a Yaesu FT-840 unfiltered with a 260 foot sloping dipole at a height of 60 feet descending. My power supply outputs 12 amps so I have to keep the power output down to about 75 watts. The upper band conditions this year were excellent. My unconfirmed score was 55,800 pts, 100 multipliers, and 58 countries. Operating time was about 7 hours total over Saturday and Sunday. Since being licensed in 1992 this has been the most fun radiosport event I have participated in.
