The Field Day that just wasn't to be.... 

Got a 'new' computer with logging program all loaded and then the hard drive crashed. I'm having alot of problems with hard drives lately. Back to the backup machine (IBM PS2).

The 3 generators all gassed up and test run. Extension cord(s) found.

The tent to protect the gennys from the drizzle all up and secure. Extra ropes on the ends, incase. An extra tarp or two. 

Grill all set. Food all set. Time to recheck the local weather. "Rain at night, clearing up early morning". I'll cover the gennys up and join in early Sunday morning after a good nights sleep.

Awoke to find tent collapsed on the gennys (really windy (35 - 40 mph wind gusts) and 1.5 - 2 inches of rain they say), still windy and raining heavily, grill full of water. Everything soaked. The radio is in the house, luckly.

Everthing went together TOO perfectly. That should have been an indication it wasn't going to happen. It didn't. I'm 'dead' in the water, sorta speaking. Always next year. I'll bring the boat and life jackets.
