The Rockford Amateur Radio Association began its activities with recognizing the military veterans in our club.  We chose three members to talk about their military experiences and opened the event to the public. 

It was a time of enlightenment and deep regard for the men who made it possible for all Americans to enjoy the liberty that should never be forgotten.  Thank you for your military service First Lieutenant Jim Miller, Us Army Signal Corp (1942 – 1946), W4JR, US Navy Third Class Signalman Mike Oberg (1962 – 1964), AB9AY and US Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer Al Abanes (1951 – 1971), KD9AHZ

A very special thanks to the local Boy Scouts for attending the Radio Merit Badge class the Rockford Amateur Radio Association hosted.  They had fun.  Congratulations on passing Scouts.
