07/11/2002 | W4GBR We once again enjoyed working QRP, battery powered field day!! Approximately thirty people visited and attended our site on beautiful lookout mountain, Fort Payne Alabama. We all got wet during a soaking rain early Sunday morning but experienced good HF conditions, the guys were logging steady the entire time. VHF/UHF was a different story, nearly all the contacts were hard work to log. I want to complement all our great group of setup, operators, loggers, cooks volunteers and coordinating personnel for the team work, hard work and the do what it takes attitude. We learn more every Field Day about every aspect of setting up and operating a remote site, this year surviving bad weather conditions.

I'm looking forward to the next Field Day!!
