2015 ARRL November Sweepstakes (CW)
My CW skills have always sucked, mostly because I don't put the effort into improving them. 10-15 WPM is a stretch for me.
In order not to feel like a total loser for relying on CWget to enable copy during a contest, I decided to try an 83 QSO clean sweep. Class U, S&P and liberal use of spots got me to around 70-75 without much problem. Those last few QSOs took almost all of Sunday and I never did get NT because there was no propagation to NNY when VY1AAA was operating. So it was only an 82 QSO effort for me. WY, MB, SK and BC were among the last in the log.
Alaska was hard to hear - I'm sure I didn't get the serial number right. My own section doesn't have many people operating, never mind running. I managed to run across NM2O on 80m while tuning around on Sunday night. He's only a few miles from me, but I forgot to turn the amp to standby when I popped from 20m over to that band so probably was effectively running QRP when I called. Not 100% sure I made it into his log.
At any rate, this approach made the event interesting and was good practice for the SSB contest. Need to make sure I bag AK and NT early and often in order to maintain my streak of sweeps in that one.
