07/13/2002 | W1FYM "Harper's Brigade" ran 5 watts battery this year. We made a TYVEK fly to reflect the sun's energy, which made the tent very comfortable in the 92-degree humid weather. (The TYVEK is available at Home Depot, and a slipknot around the corners will hold well).

Our antenna was a long terminated Vee, made of #28 enameled wire, about 400 feet per leg. The ends fed through stitching holes in the wall tent, and were tuned by a wire tuner. The resistive terminators dropped Europe out completely! The station could be operated easily by one or two operators, including computer logging and dupesheets (we used CT-Win by K1EA). -- W1FYM
