First 2016 SKN contact was Thursday night on 160 meters (my favorite band) using my 35 year old Kenwood TS-180s.  Then on Friday I fired up my 35 year old HW-8 on 40 meters (my second favorite band) using a Mosfet amp based on the WA2EBY design that produced 18 watts output into an attic dipole (27 feet above ground level).  Using my J-37 straight key I had wonderful QSO's with W5FFK on 160 meters, as well as N8NSN, WA9ZWA and WB0CNK on 40 meters.
