2016 ARRL June VHF Contest
Due to the extreme fire hazard here in the California Sierras, we weren't able to operate from our usual location at the Blue Mtn. Fire Lookout. Instead we moved 2 miles down the ridge to a slightly lower hilltop.
We were blessed with a long 2 hop opening on 6m and were able to add dramatically to our grid collection. We also ran gear on 144/220/432/902/1296 and 10 GHz. Unfortunately we didn't find anyone to talk to on 10 GHz.
A nice breeze kept the insects at bay, but the wind really came up Sunday morning and almost blew K6HS's tent away (see photo!).
