The Charles County Amateur Radio Club (CCARC), based out of LaPlata, MD held another very successful Field Day this year! A big thank you to Paul, KB3XYS for the use of the property in LaPlata and his RV; what a great location in a very quiet area surrounded by tree’s and fields. The excellent location combined with awesome weather made for a truly relaxing and enjoyable time!

 An off-center fed dipole and vertical were put up and used throughout the event as we operated a 2A station with the club call of K3SMD. We utilized the on-board generator in the RV; we were prepared this year if we had monsoon rain like last year but happily, the weather was perfect! 

 This is what Field Day is all about: fresh air, good food, good friends, long nights in front of the radio making contacts, and making plans for next year’s event.  

 Many thanks to all those that operated or just stopped by this year, we all had a great time and look forward to next year!
