Every year, Lake County R.A.C.E.S./ARES places an emphasis on making sure we promote our GOTA station as part of the Field Day experience. For me personally, I usually spend more time mentoring folks on our GOTA station than I do operating our other stations. This year, a highlight for me was helping 15 year-old Tempest Mc Kenzie make a contact with W1GQ. Tempest has special needs and being able to share her thrill at making a contact  is something I will not soon forget. This picture was taken by Tempest's dad, Kent Mc Kenzie (KM8A) right after the contact. Kent is the Assistant Coordinator for Lake County Emergency Management, our sponsoring agency.
