2016 ARRL 160 Meter Contest

12/12/2016 | N7LT

Week before contest had nice WARM weather in Montana.  Fixed grounds that were broken or cut durring the summer, added two more grounds and cleaned up corosion.  Extended the end fed log wire in the form of a loop antenna length from 920 to 1000 feet and seems to work pretty good even though it's only 20 to 40 feet off the ground.  Was suffering from a electrical noise that wiped out 160.  Did some searching and finaly found a noisy wall wart.  My noise level dropped from 40 over S9 to S1-S3 on average. WHEW!

Had a GREAT time in the contest.  Was able to stay awake all of Saturday night too!  Worked stations from Nova Scotia to Hawaii to Alaska.  Heard the Japan and New Zeland but no luck with my puny 100 watts.

Thanks to all who stuck with me and my slow code!

73 and see you next year!
