Hadf a blast as always-this is one of my favorite events of the year. I used all vintage gear;fired up my Eico 720 TX and National HRO 50 T1, and used the Johnson Matchbox for the delta loop. I homebrewed a tube power supply to run a Heath VF-1 vfo, which was sent ot me this year by a ham who built it in 1960 and never turned it on! It's always an adventure to manage the various rigs and make sure I'm on the correct frequency (or course things drift!). Kind of like driving a vintage car-always something to adjust! I had some memorable QSOs in the middle of the night on 40 with midwest hams, and later in the day had a nice chat with an older ham retired from Pennsylvania N3MD(surgeon) who remembered his first rig-a 6AG7 oscillator and a 6L6 final.Another was with a guy running a DX 60 and a Hallicrafters HQ 100. Tubes keep the shack warm!
