2017 ARRL Straight Key Night

01/06/2017 | WB2AWQ Been doing SKN since its beginning, and I never tire of it, even though CW is the only mode I use. Made 11 contacts, which is high for me. The key I chose to use this year was a 1916 Signal Electric Navy spark key, the heavy duty model. It keyed both a WW2 GO-9 transmitter, and a WW2 BC458A command transmitter. Receiving chores were done with my ORIGINAL Novice receiver a BC-348Q that my Dad bought wen I was in diapers, a 1938 HRO Sr, and for 20 meters only, a Drake R-4B Most interesting QSO was with Paul, NA5N, who was using the key (a J-38, from his photo) that hid dad used on Guam and Saipan in WW2. Now how cool is that? Best fist? There are no bad fists in SKN....... 73, Howie WB2AWQ Reno NV -- WB2AWQ
