07/14/2002 | K8AJS Somewhat different from last year; the thought at the beginning of the contest was "Where's EU?" Conditions here were really poor until almost sundown on Saturday, when 20 meters finally opened up and I was able to work more easily across the pond. My score was higher this year because of multipliers, but the quantity was not there. A look at the charts reveals that I wasn't covering the world any better; the additional multipliers were almost all the result of more HQ stations in the mix this year. -- K8AJS
