FCC CORES Registration Instructions

NEW USERS

Register in CORES (COmission REgistration System) and receive an FRN (FCC Registration Number).  To conduct business with the FCC, you must register through FCC CORES and be assigned an FRN. This number will be used to uniquely identify you in all transactions with the FCC.

View the FCC web page New Users guide to ULS for step by step instructions on the registration process or the Commission Registration System Video Tutorials page for videos that help guide CORES users through a variety of situations.

For assistance, submit a help request on the FCC’s Support Services page or call FCC at 877-480-3201 (Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m.-6 p.m. ET).

LEGACY CORES USERS MUST REGISTER IN THE NEW CORES SYSTEM
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) retired the legacy version of CORES (COmission REgistration System) on July 15, 2022. The updated version of CORES has been available since 2016.

The FCC is
advising all users to transition to the updated CORES system as soon as possible to take advantage of the new features and security enhancements.

The CORES legacy web will re-direct users to the Commission's updated CORES. Although, some functionality will continue to work into November in the old system, the new system is recommended.

If you do not have an FCC Username account, licensees must create an account with a unique username (a valid email address) and password. After creating the account, when logged in, associate your existing FRN to your Username. You can view these instructions on the FCC Registration Help page. Find your FRN in the system using the FCC’s advanced search page.

The FCC also offers CORES Tutorial Videos. Specifically, view the videos “Getting Started With the New CORES” which explains how to register for a CORES Username account and “Associating an FRN to a Username” which instructs legacy CORES users on how to link an existing FRN to a username.

Additional information about CORES is available on the FCC website. You can also call the FCC Licensing Support Center by dialing (877) 480-3201 and selecting Option 4 or visit their e-support page for help.
