TI Signal Forensics: Decoding the Wireless Signals All Around Us
In this hands-on class, we’ll explore how information travels through the air using both analog and digital modulation of radio frequency (RF) waves.Teachers will gain a practical understanding of how radio waves are modified to carry voice and data, and how to analyze real-world signals using modern spectrum tools. From there, we’ll examine how certain wireless devices—such as doorbells, PIR motion alarms, and remote-controlled power switches—communicate, and what their signals reveal.

Our newest offering!
Pictured here is our inaugural Signal Forensics class. This class is an excellent on ramp to show practical applications of radio science to your students. It presents real world examples of where radio intersects with students' lives. -
Picking up on Signals
In this course you'll be exposed to all the signals that you interact with on a daily basis without even realizing it. From doorbells, motion alarms, and remote control power switches, there are an abundance of signals that you engage with everyday. -
Read the Wave
Beyond just identifying these signals, this course will allow you to interpret and understand them. Along with your classmates you'll learn to decipher information from a signals shape, bandwidth, and behavior.
