ARLB090 ARRL Instructor of the Year Nominations Open

Nominations are due to ARRL Section Managers by January 31, 1997 for
the ARRL Instructor of the Year awards. Each year, the ARRL Board
of Directors selects recipients for each of four award categories.

The ARRL Herb S. Brier (W9AD) Instructor of the Year Award is
presented to a nonpaid volunteer instructor. The Herb S. Brier
award is cosponsored by the Lake County (Indiana), Amateur Radio
Club. The ARRL Professional Educator of the Year Award is presented
to a paid, professional teacher. The ARRL Professional Instructor
of the Year Award is presented to a paid, but not certified,
instructor. The ARRL Excellence in Recruiting Award is presented to
someone who recruits more than teaches. The ARRL Excellence in
Recruiting Award is cosponsored by Lambda Amateur Radio Club (USA).

Section Managers forward nominations to the Educational Activities
Department at ARRL, and EAD will send details to nominees about how
to compete for the awards. See QST (page 12) for your section
manager's name and address.
